The Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) has concluded its second quarter review session with ministry officials. The engagement, which was held online, took place from Wednesday, September 25th to October 7th, 2024. The sessions focused on the evaluation of second quarter 2024 submissions. These submissions provided relevant information on the implementation of Ministerial Deliverables. Key issues arising from the submitted data were also addressed.
This quarterly engagement is the second in the series under the current administration and was conducted in partnership with the Federal Commonwealth Development Partnership to Engage Reform and Learn, now (FCDO-PERL). The sessions featured experienced sector experts who reviewed, analyzed, and validated the data submitted for each indicator, ensuring that claims of achievement by Ministries were backed by verifiable evidence.
Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Usman, who chaired the sessions, emphasized that the reviews are crucial to ensuring the effective implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s eight priority areas, as outlined in the performance bond signed by Ministers.
The review sessions also serve to ensure accountability and address any bottlenecks that may be hindering delivery.
Directors of Planning, Research, and Statistics, technical aides to Ministers and Ministers of State, along with Delivery Team members from technical departments and agencies, participated in the sessions. They provided background information on data submitted through the CDCU online portal, and in cases of non-performance, provided explanations for the challenges faced during the quarter.
